This course focuses on the development of a business plan, designed to either start a new venture or take an existing venture into new markets. The course deals with the competencies needed to become an innovative, opportunity-driven, market-ready and entrepreneurial manager. Startups routinely generate ideas for new business opportunities. Few of them however, really evaluate the complexities associated with bringing a new idea into the market. Through the process of developing a business plan, students will have the chance to evaluate and deal with a wide range of issues entrepreneurs face while seeking to capitalize on market opportunities. The course deals with the competencies needed to become an innovative, opportunity-driven, market-ready and entrepreneurial manager.

1.1 Course Objectives
On successful completion of the course:
- Students will be able to discover entrepreneurial opportunities that the environment is creating
- Students will be able to test the feasibility of an idea and establish a business plan to guide its evolution into a new venture.
- Students will be equipped with the required valuable business skills, and also see the relevance of the application of these skills to any discipline of study.

- Students will benefit from the opportunity to work in multi- and cross-disciplinary teams and from exposure to the ideas, knowledge and skills of peers from other departments
