This course develops logical and empirically based arguments using statistical techniques and analytical methods. The course will introduce students to quantitative and qualitative techniques of analysing quantitative and qualitative data. Elementary statistics, probability, and other types of quantitative reasoning useful for description, estimation, comparison, and explanation are covered. Emphasis is on the use and limitations of analytical techniques in monitoring and evaluation practice.
